I was 25 years old. Linda & I had been married 6 years. I was in business for myself, building homes. I had learned the trade working for others, and by 1978, I was making a pretty good living working for myself.
Then one day a gentleman came to the house to sell us insurance. He asked me a question that changed our lives:
“Michael, how would you like to get a little less money on every house that you build, but then the people would pay you ongoing income for the rest of your life? Would that interest you?”
Put yourself in my place for a moment. What would YOU say?
Personally, I was blown away at the mere thought of what he said. It totally clicked. Then he showed me network marketing with an insurance program, and that’s where I got the bug. Linda & I have been network marketers ever since.
This is a very important lesson:
1. Get to know your prospect. Start building “know, like, & trust.”
2. Help your prospect “get the vision” by relating network marketing to what they do.
3. Get out of the way before you get trampled in their rush to get started.
This lesson is as valid today as it was back in 1978. It will take some thought on your part to adapt it to different prospects, but you will be well rewarded.
We Appreciate You
Michael & Linda Dlouhy
