MLM Strategy - Make Others Look Good

By Michael Dlouhy

Something magical happens to the human spirit - a sense of calm - when you no longer need all the attention directed toward yourself … when you can let others have the glory.

Greed & ego kill you in MLM. A lot of people demand constant attention.

Look at me! Look at me!

But here’s the thing. Everyone else also wants to be seen, heard, respected. And if you insist on it, they often feel it’s at THEIR expense. Result: someone who may have been a great advocate for you becomes an adversary.

So - don’t interrupt or “one-up” someone else’s story. Let them have their moment in the sun. In fact, practice asking questions that help others REALLY bring out the details of their story.

Unfortunately, most of us seem to have a natural inclination to try to grab that glory for ourselves, to chime in with our own stories … about us. Try this instead: consider that your function is to make the other person look good. If that’s how you act, then you will become the object of a LOT of devotion.

It’s not an easy change to make. You will really have to focus, because the natural tendency is to try to shift the spotlight back on us. But it’s also an opprotunity for enormous personal growth. When you actually help others get the glory and bask in the limelight, you get a sense of inner peace and achievement and confidence that you may not have felt before.

Plus - the other person won’t feel they are in competition with you. They will see that you are on their side, that you are actually helping them get the recognition they deserve.

Result? This person is much more relaxed around you, more confident, more interesting. And you’ll be more relaxed, too. You won’t be on the edge of your seat, waiting your turn. Instead, you will have created an enthusiastic supporter who may have great effect in helping you build your MLM income.

MLM Secrets - You DO Become What You Think About!

By Michael Dlouhy

It’s tough to build your MLM business when you’re feeling sad or depressed. Have you ever considered how what you think actually creates those feelings?

The problem is, you lose sight of the fact that you are constantly thinking. Most people say, “Oh, no. I’m aware of that.”

You think so? OK. Try this: think about your breathing. I’ll bet that until you read this sentence, you had no focus whatsoever on the fact that you are breathing. It’s true for everyone. Unless we’re in some crisis moment where we can’t breathe, we forget we’re doing it.

It’s the same with thinking. You do it constantly, so it’s easy to lose sight of your thinking. It becomes almost invisible. But losing focus on your thinking can cause serious problems - e.g., unhappiness, anger, inner conflicts, & stress.

Why? Because your thinking - EVERY thought you have - always comes back to you as a feeling, point-to-point.

Can you get angry without first having angry thoughts?
Can you feel stressed without first having stressful thoughts?
Can you be sad without sad thoughts?
Try being jealous without thoughts of jealousy.

You can’t do any of that. Totally impossible. You can never experience any feeling without first having a thought which produces that feeling.

Unhappiness does not exist on its own. It can’t. Unhappiness is the feeling you get when you have negative thoughts about your life. Without those negative thoughts, the unhappiness or stress or sadness or jealousy will not appear. They require your own thinking to hold them in place.

Next time you’re upset, focus on your thinking. Negative, isn’t it? So remind yourself it’s just your thinking that’s negative, not your life.

When you force yourself to be aware of your thoughts, you begin to put yourself back on the path to happiness … and MLM success. Train yourself to treat negative thoughts like flies at a picnic. Brush them away, and get on with life’s feast!

We appreciate you!

MLM Strategy: The Other Reason Not To Recruit Friends & Family

By Michael Dlouhy

Almost everybody in MLM knows the feeling of being avoided and/or rejected by friends & family. When you recruit friends and family, three things can happen … and two of them are bad:

1. They are successful in your business and your relationship strengthens.

2. They reject your idea and don’t want to join your business, and they’re annoyed at you for what they might see as trying to take advantage of them. This leads to tension at future family gatherings.

3. They do join you, and they fail. Result? See #2 above.

And then there’s another problem that often comes up. When you share your dream with people you care about, they often are sizing you up based on past experience. They’ve known you a long time. Maybe they’re jealous. Maybe your past success annoys them. Maybe your past failure helps them feel superior to you. Maybe they really don’t want to see you be successful.

Total strangers, on the other hand, have no bias. It’s a new relationship, and they often become your biggest fans. Unlike friends & family, their impression isn’t formed by what they know about you (or think they know).

None of us is perfect. We all have weaknesses. The idea is to succeed despite your limitations … and along the way, work at eliminating those weaknesses. To succeed, you will need others to follow your lead. It may well be easier for people who don’t know you to believe in you than it is for people who do know you.

And for sure, you don’t want to put yourself in a situation where you’re trying to lead people who’ve already decided they don’t believe in you.

Just one more reason why - for most people - it’s best to avoid recruiting friends and family until you already have built a successful business. THEN, if their perceptions of you are positive, invite them into your business.

MLM Thinking: Problems Are a Blessing

By Michael Dlouhy

Napoleon Hill said that when you choose people for your mastermind team, avoid anyone who sees defeat as a negative. The people who will benefit you the most in building your MLM business are those who don’t much worry about failure or adversity. Serious problems are a fact of every great venture. The correct attitude is to recognize them, understand them, and overcome them.

Unfortunately, some people are ruled by their fears. So they mostly sit on their thumbs, afraid to take action. Those are not people you want advice from, unless your goal is to stay in the same place.

And that’s not all. Whenever these people actually DO get started, they’ll usually give up at the first sign of trouble. They’ll tell you the sky is falling, and that you had better get off the playing field and into a bomb shelter.

If you are serious about achieving your dreams, learn the Colors Personality techniques so you can team up with people who will truly support you verbally and physically. You want to work with people who look at problems as a blessing. When you find the other kind, explain the Colors to them. Tell them how they need to change in order to become an achiever. Let them know that once they do that, you’ll be happy to have them in your MLM mastermind group. But until then, no, thank you!
