When you understand this thought, you’ll probably think, “Well. That’s crazy!” But hear me out. You might find this idea to be a very useful self-improvement exercise.
Imagine that all of your contacts and all the MLM prospects you meet and, for that matter, everyone else in your life … is perfect! Except you, of course.
So at any given moment, every last person you know or meet qualifies to mentor you. They’re all here to teach you something. That blowhard who calls to reverse recruit you is a great example of what NOT to do. Your new extra-analytical recruit who is going to start working immediately, as soon as they finish their “preparation” list of about 172 thing? That person is here to teach you about patience.
Make a game of it. Every person in your life today - what lesson are they trying to teach you? I’ll bet that certain actions and imperfections of others tend to annoy you or frustrate you. So turn that negative into a positive. Make it a point to look for the lesson in everyone you deal with. My experience is, the annoyance and frustration just totally disappear.
Maybe you’re in line at the supermarket, in a hurry to get home with a few items for dinner. And the check-out cashier seems to be intentionally moving very slowly! Instead of getting angry, ask yourself, “What is she trying to teach me?”
Maybe it’s compassion - think how awful it would be to have a job & boss you hated. Or maybe it’s patience. That supermarket line is a great chance to perfect your ability to be patient in any situation.
This little exercise is easy. You can do it all day long. Instead of thinking, “What an idiot!” … ask yourself, “What is THIS MLM mentor teaching me today?” If you use your day-to-day life as your own master course in self-improvement, there’s no telling how fast you can get to the top!
