MLM Relationships - See the Innocence

By Michael Dlouhy

One thing network marketers do is … we wonder why other people do the things they do. Some of that stuff really seems irrational, doesn’t it? Selfish, mean, nuts? It’s frustrating just to think about someone doing those crazy things. Why can’t they be normal? Like … like … like US for instance!

And do you know what the height of this lunacy is? They … look at us … and think exactly the same thing!

Since they are so set in their crazy ways, maybe the smartest thing for us to do is to be a bit less bothered by their nuttiness.

One way to do this is to look beyond their behavior and into their soul. The vast majority of associates and prospects and family members aren’t being devious. They are just doing what they believe in. If you can look at the other person and see the innocence behind their behavior, then you can have compassion for them.

One area where others seem to often “go too far” is in their idea of how quickly we should be doing some pretty weird (probably unproductive) action, to help them in their MLM business. To them, it’s urgent. You, on the other hand, have 27 things on your list more urgent and more likely to produce good results. So just think of the frustration you feel when a project is urgent to you and you have to depend on someone else for the next step. That may make it easier to “feel their pain” and not be so bothered by their behavior.

We appreciate you!

MLM Strategy - Curb That Ego!

By Michael Dlouhy

To be as effective as possible in both your personal life and your MLM business, you must have balance.

To start, you’ll achieve a lot more when you focus on understanding others rather than getting them to understand you. For your communication ability to nourish you both personally and in business, you first have to understand and really hear others. Concentrate on understanding the message they want to get across, and you will understand what’s important to them.

Most of us spend our time struggling to get our own message across to others. Here’s the problem - they can hear all the effort you put into having them understand you, and they decide that you are just like everybody else. They’re looking for someone to listen to them. They want understanding. But all you want is for them to listen to you. Result? A big battle of egos. You may win that battle, but you’ll sure never build your network.

To paraphrase Zig Ziglar, “To have what you want in life, you just need to give enough other people what THEY want in life.”

What others really want is understanding. So give it to them. Really listen to them. Really understand. Soon enough, it will be returned. And your personal and MLM network will build effortlessly.

MLM Leads - Write a Letter from Your Heart

By Michael Dlouhy

This little exercise can change lives.

Especially YOURS, although that’s not the primary focus.

Each week, write a letter straight from your heart … to someone. Doesn’t matter who. Just sit down with pen and paper - or at the keyboard - and start writing your note to tell this person how much they mean to you. The act of writing this letter will focus your day on the gratitude you feel for ALL your blessings. And that focus is worth a lot.

List all the people you’d like to thank. Then write a letter a week - more often is OK, too - letting them know the difference they have made in your life. If you run out of people in your life who you want to thank, write the letters to people you’ve never met, but who have affected your life. An author, for instance. One of the big purposes of this letter is to focus your thoughts on gratitude, so it doesn’t really matter whether you’re sending it to a person you know or not.

The intent is simple: to openly state the love & gratitude you feel. It may be tough to put it into words. But the more letters you write, the easier it will get. If it seems an impossible task, then just start with a note of 2 or 3 short sentences. Tell the person what you are grateful for. Tell them how appreciative you are, and the affect they have had on your life. You can write a lot or a little, but this message will make a difference to them - and to you.

One result of writing these letters is, your thoughts get focused on what is good in your life. And, of course, the person you are thanking will be touched … and may turn into one of your best MLM leads. Those are GREAT outcomes. That’s why I suggest you write your first letter today.

MLM Strategy - Everything Happens For a Reason

By Michael Dlouhy

As you probably heard from your parents a long time ago, life isn’t fair. Which is true. We’ve all heard it.

But not everyone accepts it. And I think they’d be much happier if they did, in both their personal and business life. You can even develop a very effective MLM strategy around the unfairness of life.

When things don’t go their way, a lot of people spend their time complaining about life, feeling sorry for themselves. A lot of others commiserate with them, telling them that “lift isn’t fair” … as if they’ve been singled out to be cheated.

And the result? Both parties have their attention totally diverted from anything that could possibly raise their spirits and make them happy. You become what you think about. And the more you focus on the unfairness of life, the more unfair it all gets.

Why does it always get worse? Because you are no longer actively focusing on achieving and making your life better. Pity - whether for ourselves or for others - is a deflating emotion. It makes everyone feel worse.

So rather than feeling sorry for someone who has been treated unfairly by life, feel compassion instead. Show them kindness. It’s much more valuable to them for you to encourage them do do the best they possibly can with what they have.

Everybody has their own unique set of strengths and weaknesses. We all have the challenge of playing our hand to the best of our ability. Bad things happen in life. So what? That doesn’t change our duty to ourselves and to our loved ones to do the absolute best we can with what we have.

A good strategy is to adopt the notion that “everything happens for a reason.” No matter how awful an event is in your life, think about it in terms of “what lesson am I supposed to get from this? What is life teaching me?” When you believe that everything happens for a reason, you will never waste time & energy feeling sorry for yourself or for others.

There will be times in life and in business that you struggle, times you feel victimized, or that you have been treated unfairly. Believe me, every single instance of life’s unfairness to you had a reason behind it. It’s a very effective MLM strategy to examine the situation. You’ll find the reason pretty easily, so you can then get back on track and into action, stronger, wiser, and better-prepared than before.
